Meet Kate!

Kathryn "Kate" Metcalf came into this world today, June 26th, at 3:50PM. She weighs 7lbs 10 ounces and is 20 and a half inches long. The delivery went great, and both Mom and baby are doing well! (And Dad is an emotional wreck!)

Without further ado, here's our precious baby girl:

OH!!! SHE IS SO DARLING!! It is amazing to see the mix of you two! In some pictures she looks just like her dad and others just like her mom. She has supermodel lips - wow, they are so pretty! I can't wait to hear more and see more pictures. I wish I could be there to hold her, a little piece of heaven! Congratulations to Mom and Dad and brother Zeus!

She is, as they say in Italy, bellissima! Great job and congrats you two.

The next level of fun begins now. Get some rest before you get her fitted for her Zeus saddle and send her round the yard.

Congratulations Mike & Lydia! She is just perfect! Get lots of pictures & take advantage of your stay in the hospital to get some rest (trust me, it's worth it!) Congrats again - she's beautiful!

p.s. Gavin says "Hi" to baby Kate! :o) He can't wait until she's old enough to come play!

Congrats to y'all! We love you guys- awesome pics, she looks beautiful and healthy. Suggestion: additional middle name... Thor-ianna. Kind of a powerful "Mom namesake" thing. *Bonus: you can make all kinds of references to mythology/pet names for your loved ones(impress your friends, wow the neighbors, you know...).

Oh, she is ADORABLE! I am trying to see thru my tears to write this! You're right Lyd, she has your lips. I don't see a resemblance like "oh she looks just like Lydia when she was born" -- nope, she's her own little self. We'll see what she really looks like in a couple of days! If I could just hold her up to my cheek and smell that newborn smell...oh, I'm gonna make myself cry again.

CONGRATULATIONS LYDIA & MIKE! Welcome to true adulthood! Before a baby is just pretend adulthood. I agree with other comments -- get some rest, NOW while you can.

I burst into more tears when I saw the picture of your Mom and Grandma, Mike. How grateful I am that they were right there. It made me feel so much better! Lydia, you must take every single offer for help you get...I mean it. Let people help. I need you to let them help!

How I love you guys. You're a beautiful family! Don't let Kate grow too fast. Don't let her start to walk or anything before I get home. What a day to remember, guys.

Mike, thig blog is so awesome! Thank you, thank you. Love you all!

She's an angel! Gorgeous, I'm not surprised. Kathryn with a 'Y'. I like that. I'll see you all soon and can't wait to meet the little bundle of joy.

Congratulations! What a beautiful baby. I love that she appears to be smiling in one of the pictures you posted.

Your life will never be the same (in a great way). My pre-children life seems quite blah in comparison to the joy filled time these last 8 years have been for me. Enjoy!

Mike and Lydia,
We are SO grateful everything went well....ready to do it again? Ashley is at girl's camp, when she gets back she'll be excited to hear she shares a special day with Kate. Have a blast with her, we know you will. Mike, Leslie & kids

What an amazing little girl! And what an amazing experience. Thank you so very much for letting me be a part of your miracle. I will never forget it.
Lydia, you did so great...I am truly impressed with your grace and composure during the whole thing. Mike, you were a phenomenal birth coach. You had perfect counting skills, and a very calming influence on everyone! Kate, I am already head over heels in love with you and cannot wait to spoil you rotten...I am so glad to be your aunt.

Love you all so much!
